Healing the Mind, Body & Spirit
True wellness is more than just physical health—it’s a deep integration of mind, body, and spirit. Many of our physical, emotional, and mental struggles stem from unresolved trauma stored within us. By addressing these deeper wounds, we can unlock healing, peace, and restoration in every area of our lives.
💆♀️ The Link Between Beauty & Wellness
1. Your Skin Reflects Your Inner Health
Stress and trauma can show up as acne, eczema, and premature aging.
Hydration, nutrition, and self-care help support radiant skin and overall well-being.
2. Hair & Scalp Care for Stress Relief
Scalp massages stimulate circulation and relaxation.
Essential oils like lavender and rosemary promote both hair health and emotional balance.
3. The Power of Touch: Massage & Self-Care
Touch therapy, whether through massages, facials, or even brushing your hair, triggers emotional release and stress relief.
I like to recommend massaging your scalp once a day with rosemary for 5 minutes before bed or in the morning. Always consult your doctor first and make sure you won't have any allergic reactions to rosemary or other essential oils. For best results use pure essential oil mixed with castor oil, olive oil, or coconut oil, place a small bit on your neck under your ear or on the inside of your elbow (this is how we test for allergic reactions in the salon), and wait 5 to 10 minutes. Then check periodically if there is any rash, redness, or sensitivity. If there is, I recommend not using and finding an alternative or simply don't use any oils at all. The massage itself will do wonders.
🧠 Unresolved Trauma & Holistic Healing

(Please note I am not a doctor. This is all based on research and personal experience)
1. The Body Remembers Trauma
Emotional wounds don’t just disappear—they often manifest physically as headaches, fatigue, and chronic pain. In some circumstances, we can feel like we "healed" from a trauma when in reality we only buried it to have the trauma physically manifest itself years later!
Healing techniques like the Retracing Sequence Method (RSM) and The Emotion Code & Body Code help identify and release trapped emotions.
2. Stress Reduction & Nervous System Balance
Breathwork, prayer, and mindfulness can shift the body out of survival mode.
Journaling, therapy, and holistic energy work help process deep emotions.
Allowing God to transform and renew our minds
Extreme Cases of Trauma Manifesting as Physical Illness
1️⃣ Stroke-Like Symptoms (Functional Neurological Disorder - FND)
Some individuals experience paralysis, slurred speech, or loss of motor function despite having no structural damage in the brain.
This is often linked to emotional trauma or suppressed stress affecting the nervous system.
2️⃣ Multiple Sclerosis (MS) & Autoimmune Disorders
Trauma and chronic stress can overload the immune system, leading to autoimmune responses.
Some studies suggest that early childhood trauma is correlated with an increased risk of MS, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.
3️⃣ Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Disorders
People with past trauma, particularly abuse are more likely to develop chronic widespread pain conditions.
The nervous system remains in a state of hypervigilance, causing nerve hypersensitivity and muscle pain.
4️⃣ Narcissism & Personality Disorders
Emotional trauma, especially from childhood neglect, abandonment, or abuse, can cause deep psychological wounds.
Some individuals develop narcissistic traits or even full-blown Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) as a defense mechanism to avoid vulnerability.
5️⃣ Seizures & Non-Epileptic Attacks
Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES) look like epileptic seizures but have no electrical brain activity disruption.
These episodes are often caused by deep emotional trauma or PTSD.
6️⃣ Heart Disease & High Blood Pressure
Long-term emotional repression, grief, or anxiety can deteriorate heart health, leading to hypertension, arrhythmias, and even heart attacks.
People with childhood trauma are significantly more likely to develop cardiovascular disease later in life.
7️⃣ Unexplained Vision & Hearing Loss
Some individuals with severe emotional distress experience temporary blindness, hearing loss, or speech issues (Conversion Disorder).
The brain disconnects from sensory input as a defense mechanism against overwhelming emotional pain.
8️⃣ Gut Health & Digestive Disorders
Trauma and chronic stress are strongly linked to IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Crohn’s disease, and ulcers.
The gut-brain connection means that emotional pain directly affects digestion and inflammation.
Ever go into the hospital because of something that seemed serious, they did all their tests and everything came back normal? And no one can explain why you're hurting the way you do. Chances are you may have suppressed trauma manifesting itself.
🙏 Your Body is a Temple
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us: "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
Caring for our bodies is an act of worship—when we nurture our well-being, we are better equipped to serve, love, and fulfill our purpose.
